Florida Governor Rick Scott has yet to endorse anyone in the Republican Presidential Primary, which is March 15h. But will Donald Trump endorse Scott by picking him as a running mate?
Last month, Scott wrote an op-ed in USA Today, which looked favorably upon the New York City billionaire real estate developer.
Earlier this week, The Washington Post listed Scott on a short-list of possible running mates that Trump might be considering.
Like Trump, Scott was a lifelong non-politician until he opted to run for Governor in 2010. Like Trump, Scott made a fortune in the private sector.
If Trump were to pick Scott as his running mate, the Florida Governor would not have to resign his position to run, but it would have a domino effect.
If the Trump Scott ticket wins, then the Governor would have to resign, making Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera- briefly, unless Catera is elected to the US Senate.
At that point, the line of succession dictates that Attorney General Pam Bondi would be be named Governor.
Bottom line, Trumps decision could have a big impact on Florida.
