BONITA SPRINGS, Fla -- Three Southwest Florida local municipalities will join the conversation surrounding potential mask mandates on Tuesday.

This has become the new norm, as Governor Ron DeSantis has decided that local cities or counties should have the power to decide, versus issuing a statewide order.

We've seen cities like Sanibel, Punta Gorda, and Fort Myers Beach put their own orders in place. Whereas cities like Cape Coral and Fort Myers have voted against doing so.

It's become the latest controversy to sweep Southwest Florida, with some arguing that such mandates violate their American freedoms. And others fearful of the deadly consequences of not issuing a mandate, as cases in Florida continue to rise.

Both Collier and Charlotte County's meetings are set for 9:00 a.m., followed by Bonita at 6:00 p.m.
