PUNTA GORDA, Fla — The Punta Gorda city council voted on Wednesday to extend the face-covering ordinance until April 30th.
There will also be a moratorium on fines and penalties.
The city posted several exemptions to the ordinance on their Facebook page.

The exemptions include a child under the age of two years old and a person who is observing social distancing.
A person would also be exempt if a face-covering causes an impairment due to an existing health condition or a person exercising while social distancing.
The city says face shields are considered appropriate face coverings under the ordinance.
