NORTH FORT MYERS, FLA — "It's like god's command. We have to help and love each other," said Elizeth Lopes.

Love thy neighbor.

It's a biblical command you've probably heard of before.

In North Fort Myers, one woman is using her hands, and feet, to do just that.

"As everybody knows we can't find masks to buy anywhere so we decided to make some and donate it to those in need," said Lopes.

The "we" Lopes is referring to is Dorcas Workshop Ministries Inc. a group of woman in Florida, who typically use their sewing skills to make clothes for kids in other countries.

"Like Africa, South America, India," said Lopes.

The group is working remotely and has only just started.

But they're been giving the masks they've made to anyone in our area that needs them, through pick-ups or deliveries.

"I have no idea how many I've made but (laughs)," said Lopes.

While she's lost count of the ones that have gone out so far, she does know that they need your help to keep this going.

The group is looking for volunteers, cloth, and this essential piece for any surgical mask:

"We need some elastics. But we can't find any anywhere," said Lopes.
