DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. — DeSoto County will be launching an appointment-only registration system starting tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
The new system will allow the public, 65 and older, to make an appointment over the phone or online.
When the new registration system launches tomorrow, a call center will also assist and answer questions. County health officials have received 250 Moderna vaccines for distribution.
Drive-thru vaccination appointments will occur on Thursday, starting at 10:00 a.m., at the Turner Center, 2250 NE Roan Street, in Arcadia. (Note: You must have an appointment to receive a vaccine.)

Once the appointment line opens, the county anticipates a very high call volume, and appointments will fill up quickly. Moving forward, we hope to offer appointments weekly.
The number of appointments offered will depend on the number of vaccines received.
