FORT MYERS, Fla. — Today cars lined the streets outside the S.T.A.R.S Complex, picking up Easter dinner like never before. Community organizers came together to feed about 600 families in Fort Myers. Providing the meals from their own pocketbooks, Michael Woody says today was indescribable.

“I was overwhelmed, overjoyed to help, the community, in this time, and I can’t even explain how happy I was to help out”, said Woody.
He felt for those in need.

“Some people out there, they don’t know how they going to get their next meal or anything like that so we just out here trying to help”, said Woody.

One family says this event meant the world to them.

“Especially with having 3 kids it means a lot for us because times are hard right now”, said Jovan Ramirez.

Due to the Coronavirus they are facing serious hardships.

“We’re having really hard times right now. We’re staying at a hotel right now so our Easter isn’t really going as great. We’re struggling ourselves and having people do stuff like this for us I am very grateful. I am very appreciative” said Megan Judy.

Adding they are not the only ones struggling, but regardless they are making the best of it.

“It doesn’t matter what kind of money you make or money you don’t make, we’re all going through a hard time right now, but at the same time we’re all supporting each other to make a better way for each other”, said Ramirez.
