Congressman Francis Rooney met with business owners, fishermen and locals on Fort Myers Beach to discuss the water quality.
Locals expressed their thoughts on the issue, saying they've suffered environmentally and economically. This all comes from the dirty water from Lake Okachobee being discharged into the Caloosahatchee River.
Congressman Rooney says his first order of business is to get the federal government to help fund a plan made up of 68 projects dedicated to restoring the Everglades.
