FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. -- Ft. Myers Beach business owner stands by Trump. An immigrant backing Trump to the end.
You could call her an unlikely supporter. A woman who immigrated to Southwest Florida is backing Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Maria Stevens owns Maria's Smokehouse on San Carlos Boulevard, where "Trump4Truth" is written on the marquee.
"Everybody think about Trump!," she told us.
Maria and her late husband opened the restaurant shortly after she moved to Ft. Myers Beach from Colombia 5 decades ago. Trumps' comments about immigration, or his bragging about harassing women hasn't swayed her.
"They're just jealous, hey, he might never kiss them, I don't know, Trump was a good looking man!, he's still a good looking man as far as I am concerned."
Some patrons have told Maria they won't be coming back after seeing all the Trump signs inside and outside her restaurant, but she isn't fazed.
"Some have said oh we will never go back there again, I said, OK, there will be new people."
Bert Kurland isn't abandoning Maria, he says the food is too good, regardless of Maria's political affiliation or personality.
"Sometimes she's irritating, but no, she's a great gal," said Kurland.
Maria says she will serve and great people who don't agree with her support of Trump with a smile.
