A couple is caught on camera stealing out of a family's yard in Cape Coral.

Peter Burt and his wife Diana were selling a couch, coffee table, and motorcycle, and decided to advertise it in their front yard.

On Saturday afternoon, they decided to go for a motorcycle ride. It was in the middle of the day, and "For Sale" signs were posted on the items. They didn't think anyone would try to steal them.

When they came back, their glass and wooden coffee table was gone.

They checked their surveillance system and realized the entire incident was clearly caught on camera.

"I'm surprised they didn't even notice the cameras," Peter Burt said.

The video shows a man and a woman pull up, get out of their maroon car, and look at the items.

"He clearly read it and sees a cell phone number on there," Burt said.

Later, the woman walked toward the front door, then turn around and walk back out to the driveway, motioning to the man. The couple then lifted the glass off the table, loaded it into their backseat, then put the wooden stand into the trunk. They then took off.

Burt waited two days to file a police report, hoping the couple would come back and make things right.

He said it isn't about the money.

"It's about the fact that someone would be brazen enough to come on the property and take something like that," Burt said.

If you recognize the couple or have any information, call Andrew Aguiar at the Cape Coral Police Department at 239-989-4614.
