CAPTIVA ISLAND, Fla. - Vacationing on Captiva Island could soon come with a catch. A seven day catch!
The Captiva Community Panel is considering a seven day minimum for certain vacation rentals on the island. It would apply to any residential property excluding those in the South Seas Island resort.
The proposal would require a vote by the Lee County Commission.
Right now, the county has no set limits for a minimum stay, any change would require an amendment to the Lee Plan Charter.
Some people we spoke to see the wisdom in the idea while others are not so convinced!
The proposal is still under consideration of course it wouldn't apply to hotels.
It has yet to go to the county commission for a vote.
