CAPE CORAL, Fla.- According to detectives at the Polk County Sheriff's Office, 25 year old Lucas Bales is facing several charges after threatening underage girls with rape and arson, unless they sent him nude photos.
Lucas Bales threatened a Polk County girl, saying he would post her address on the internet asking people to come rape her, set her house on fire, or hurt her unless she sent him nude photos or videos or the names and address of other girls.
The 11-year-old girl told her father who called detectives, who determined she isn't the only girl he's done this to.
Neighbors of Bales told Fox 4 they never saw this coming.
"This is like something out of Law and Order the television show," neighbor Charley Ellegood said.
"Very uncomfortable. Having a 14-year-old daughter myself, it's very creepy," another neighbor, Rita Sieber, said. "He's very sick. He's obviously got problems and issues."
"Lucas is very friendly to me, so we thought nothing but good kid next door. I would not believe that this Lucas next door, kid that I know. would be this type of kid," next-door-neighbor John Bukovschak said.
Lucas Bales lives in the home with his parents, who many neighbors say are great people.
"I really feel sorry for the parents. Absolutely terrific people. You couldn't ask for better neighbors and then for something like this to happen... they've got to be really broken up about this," Ellegood said.
Four in Your Corner's Lisa Greenberg knocked on the door to see if his parents were home.
His mother answered: "It has been the worst day of my life," she said.
She said she was heading out to speak with a lawyer.
Investigators say the 11-year-old girl isn't Bales only victim.
They found evidence he messaged and threatened other girls for naked photos.
Detectives are still analyzying the computers and equipment taken fom this home and say more charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
