CAPE CORAL, FLA. - People living in a Cape Coral community are concerned about construction work being done near a Burrowing Owls nest.
They tell Four in Your Corner they are concerned that workers are building a home over the burrow.
When the construction began in December in the 5300 block of SW 20th Place, neighbors says workers began running over the nest. FWC was called out to investigate and construction was stopped.
According to state laws, their eggs are protected from harassment or disturbance.
