CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- The owner of a Cape Coral Japanese steakhouse is happy to have a beloved bonsai tree back after it was stolen from the restaurant Thursday night.
The theft happened shortly after 10 p.m. at the Hana Japanese Steakhouse on Hancock Bridge Parkway.
According to staff, a young couple that was eating at the restaurant grabbed a bonsai tree worth over $300 on their way out and left with it in their car.
Employees took to social media overnight, looking for help getting their tree back.
And their efforts worked, when the tree was returned to the restaurant Friday.
The manager says the tree is very sentimental to her.
