FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Three Oaks Elementary School was placed on a partial lockdown Wednesday after a black bear was seen on school property, just days after a previous sighting.
The school is located off Estero Parkway.
Last Friday, the school was placed on lockdown when a bear appeared on campus. FWC however says the bear posed no danger and it was left to wander off on its own.
Then on Wednesday, the school -- who's mascot is a bear -- was once again dealing with a bear that was seen on a boardwalked section of the campus, then later high up in a tree. FWC has returned to the scene as well.
Wildlife officers were able to tranquilize the bear and move it to a safer location.
