FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The man accused of shooting a Sanibel police officer will be back in a Lee County courtroom Thursday.
Back on November 28th Jon Hay and his legal team filed a plea of not guilty and requested a trial by jury.
Investigators say on November 20th, Hay shot and injured officer Jarred Ciccone while he was conducting a traffic stop on Periwinkle Way. That led to a chase across the island that ended with gunfire during a standoff at a residence.
