CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- In the quiet, northwest section of Cape Coral, the silence is broken by the sound of a vehicle window getting smashed.
Home surveillance video shows two people smashing a car window to steal items in that car. The car's owner, too shaken to talk, say police need to step up patrols.
While Cape Coral police say that the homeowner has done more than what they could have done to stop the break-in, they urge residents to lock their vehicles and take anything of value out of their cars.
They also want to remind residents of the "Lock It or Lose It" program the agency has.
