Four In Your Corner is digging deeper into the history of a Cape Coral Firefighter who is at the center of a legal battle with the city mayor.
As we've reported, Marni Sawicki filed an injunction against her ex-boyfriend, Lieutenant Kenneth Retzer, claiming he's made threats against her. the case has even caused her to miss a city council meeting.
Mayor Sawicki filed the injunction last week for protection from what she described as a "rocky relationship" with Retzer. She says since their last break up, Retzer would send hundreds of texts, show up at council meetings, and leave threatening voice mails.
The Cape Coral Fire Department says Retzer isn't facing any punishment and according to a newly obtained personnel file, he has a relatively clean record.
Last year, he received a solid performance review and he only has two write-up's; one in 2008 for drinking while in uniform at Diamond Billiards and another back in 1991 for failing to show up to work.
Meanwhile, Fox 4 was in court yesterday as a Lee county judge granted an 8 day extension on the injunction case. During that time, both parties will have time to reach some kind of resolution or get ready for another hearing which would take place on the 31st.
If an injunction is finalized, Retzer will not be allowed to contact mayor Sawicki or be near her home or work place.
