CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Some people with plans at Southwest Florida parks are going a different route after hearing about a Four In Your Corner Investigation revealing more than a dozen local parks are listed as a hook-up spots for men looking for sex.

Lance Schreiber sponsors the Drone Academy at FSW Collegiate High School. He's been planning drone day for months at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral but he had to change locations last minute.

"We didn't want to cause any stir flying in the parks because I know the parks are pretty big on regulations and flying drones number one," Schreiber said. "And number two, we don't know how big of an assembly it's going to be."

Schreiber says moving to a different location was initially disappointing but when we told him websites list Jaycee Park as a hot hook up spot for men, he couldn't believe it.

"It is kind of shocking to hear," he said. "I would prefer to keep the kids away from places with that kind of reputation."

Stefan Lippkey frequents Jaycee Park with his 2 year old son and tells us he's never noticed anything out of the ordinary but after learning there have been incidents in the past, he won't be planning his son's birthday here any time soon.

"I wouldn't want to plan an event at the hook up for men spot," Lippkey said.

Four In Your Corner Reached out to Cape Coral Police Department to find out how they're addressing the issue.

"This is actually not new news to us," Sgt. Dana Coston said.

Sgt. Coston says while they haven't received any indecency complaints about any Cape Coral Parks this year, there is a team patrolling all parks in the area.

"The Cape Coral Police department does monitor pages like this to see what is being said about places here in Cape Coral and our Vice and Intelligence and Narcotics unit monitors that activity and they conduct periodic operations."
