COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Wildlife officials say a vehicle collision is the cause of the 17th Florida panther death this year.
The 16-18 month old male panther was hit by a vehicle along Randall Boulevard, just east of the entrance to Valencia Golf & Country Club at 16th Street NE.
This is the 6th vehicular death this month alone, and the 17th total death for the year. All but two deaths have been attributed to vehicle collisions.
Residents are urged to report injured or dead panthers to the FWC Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922).
