Local middle school students compete in Gridiron Cooking Challenge

Middle school students at Veterans Park Academy for the Arts are one of 4 teams from Florida competing in the 2018 Gridiron Cooking Challenge this Saturday to win a prize pack worth up to $2,500 for their school.

Each team has 60 minutes to create an original recipe while using dairy products. Students at Veterans Park Academy for the Arts are creating 3 cheese ravioli in a shallot, tomato cream sauce. These students are Macy Matheny, 6th grade, Ednita Tineo-Lopez, 7th grade, Jadah Hyppolite, 6th grade, and Summer Boling, 6th grade.

The teams will compete on Saturday, April 21st, at Baptist Health Training Facility at Nova Southeastern University. The event is open to the public and free for admission.
