COLLIER COUNTY, Fla — The Florida Department of Health in Collier County says four human cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed in the county.
They issued a mosquito-borne illness alert for Collier County on Thursday.
DOH-Collier says there is a heightened concern that additional people will become ill.
They are continuing to advise the public to remain diligent and continue their mosquito protection efforts.
DOH-Collier says to remember to "Drain and Cover" and that Drain standing water to stop mosquitos from multiplying.
