TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --- The Florida Lottery is warning citizens of a lottery scam involving MEGA MILLIONS.
Scammers are sending emails to the public indicating they may have won millions in an effort to obtain personal and financial information.
The email features the MEGA MILLIONS logo as part of the letterhead and states that the recipient was randomly selected to participate in an ongoing drawing.
The email goes on to warn recipients not to share this information with other people to avoid impersonation and a double claim.
Florida Lottery warns players that prizes cannot be given from just purchasing a MEGA MILLIONS ticket.
