MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — The Collier County Sheriff's Office and Marco Island Police Department were called for a bomb threat on Sunday afternoon.

It happened at the Chevron gas station located at 1095 N. Collier Boulevard around 3:30 p.m.

According to the Marco Island Police report, "All Marco Island Police Officers were dispatched to the area and started to secure the perimeter and began to evacuate people near the gas station".

Investigators say they talked with the clerk, who stated he had received a call saying "there was a bomb in the dumpster."

Deputies say after talking with the man who called the gas station it was all a misunderstanding.

Investigators say there was a language barrier, and he was complaining about the garbage.
