PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — Charlotte County Sheriff's Office confirmed a fatal traffic crash on southbound U.S. 41 near Zemel Road on Thursday night.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 45-year-old motorcyclist from North Fort Myers was killed after colliding with a pickup truck.
Troopers say it happened around 9:28 p.m. when the motorcyclist attempted to change lanes and crashed into the trailer of the truck traveling south on US 41.
Both vehicles caught on fire.
Both people in the truck were not injured in the crash.
FHP continues to investigate this crash.
