UPDATE 7:20 AM:
The Florida Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist has died following an overnight crash on US 41 in Port Charlotte.
Troopers say a pickup truck made a left turn and crossed onto southbound US 41 - south of Cochran Boulevard.
The motorcyclist was traveling south on US 41 when they collided with the rear of the pickup truck.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene.
The crash remains under investigation

All lanes of Tamiami Trl. near Carousel Plaza are now open, according to the department.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said there was a deadly crash in Port Charlotte on N. Tamiami Trail.
The Sheriff's Office said Florida Highway Patrol is investigating and as of 10pm US-41 is down to one lane near Carousel Plaza.
One land of Southbound Tamiami Trail is also closed. The Sheriff Office asks all drivers to use caution traveling through he area.
