PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says a 59-year-old woman called 9-1-1 to say that she shot a man multiple times and was planning to shoot herself.
CCSO says that while they were on the call, a gunshot was heard on the other line.
Once deputies arrived at the home on Swaying Palm Dr., a man was found dead with a woman who was still alive reportedly suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The woman was sent to the hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
According to the CCSO report, the couple lived at the home where the victim and woman were found. CCSO says that they were called to that location back in January.
The identity of the suspect will be released once the next of kin is notified.
