The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday morning one of it's deputies was training at a Sheriff's Office range when his firearm unintentionally went off.
The Sheriff's Office said the agency issued firearm discharged and struck the deputy's leg.
The Sheriff's Office said the deputy has since been treated and released from the hospital.
