CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Charlotte County fire crews responded to a structure fire across from the Redneck Mud Park on Bermont Road.

According to Charlotte County Public Safety, the structure was a barn that was being lived in on a nearby property.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire but two animals were, one did eventually escape.
The second animal, a dog, was found dead inside the barn.
The cause of the fire was due to a lightning strike.
