A Fox 4 crew was live on the scene Monday morning as a group of volunteers worked together to carry a live dolphin back to the Gulf of Mexico after Hurricane Irma passed through the area.
MARCO ISLAND, Fla. -- A dramatic rescue played out live on Fox 4 Monday morning as Marco Island residents worked together to help rescue a live dolphin.
Fox 4 reporter Tony Russell and photographer Dennis Meister were there to show the rescue as it happened.
Tony joined the group as they lifted the dolphin up and carried it into the rough surf, where it managed to swim away after a brief struggle.
This was the 2nd such rescue along the beach on Marco Island this morning.
