Born in Virginia but raised in Tampa, Florida I am the ultimate “Florida Girl”. At an early age I knew I wanted to get into the fascinating world of TV. While a “bulldog” at Zephyrhills High School in Pasco County (yes, where the bottled water is made) I anchored the morning announcements and interned at the local NBC affiliate, WFLA.
I later became a proud Seminole of Florida State University (insert tomahawk chop here) and during my senior year worked at the ABC affiliate WTXL, as a production assistant and entertainment/feature reporter.
After graduating from FSU, I started reporting for the CBS station in Greenville, NC, WNCT. Shortly after my arrival, I was promoted to Morning and Noon anchor.
During my time in Greenville, I covered everything from hurricanes, presidential visits and the fascinating stories of everyday people.
I am most proud of a story I covered about a newly widowed marine wife and the amazing love she shared with her husband in which the company honored my reporting and storytelling with a respected D. Tennant Bryan Award.
My adventure in Eastern North Carolina lasted about five and half years and in 2010 I moved back to the sunshine state to start Co-Hosting the “Morning Blend” and more recently “Paradise TV”! Both shows are all about enjoying life and appreciating this wonderful place we get to call “Paradise”. If you are ever looking for a new restaurant to try, fun place to go or new idea to consider, FOX 4 has you covered with both shows!
Apart from working my “dream job” everyday, my real pride and joy can be found off-camera. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful children. Tinsley (our daughter) and Brooks (our son) are only 15 months apart.
Yes, I can hear your gasp and feel your pity from here. I’m not going to lie, the first few weeks were hard but every crazy minute has been more than worth it. Oh wait… how could I forget? I have THREE children! Paisley is our first “fur-baby” Yes, our lovable beagle is named after country star Brad Paisley.
My husband and I are also huge music fans. Unfortunately, I can’t carry a tune or play an instrument. But that doesn't stop me from singing at the top of my lungs in the car (yes, I’m THAT person).
I also love to cook and you will find some of my favorite recipes in my “Cooking with Carley” segments on the Morning Blend. I should warn you though, my definition of “cooking” has to be easy recipes that include 10 ingredients or less.I don’t have the time, patience or stomach to do anything more.
