LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Oversized checks will be padding the bank accounts of two lucky Southwest Florida residents, thanks to the Florida Lottery.

Richard Mizerski of Naples has claimed his $1 million prize he won on a $20 scratch-off ticket purchased at the Shell station on Tollgate Boulevard in Naples.

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $770,000.

Sharon Halek of Cape Coral has also won big.  She has claimed her $500,000 prize she won on a $5 scratch-off ticket purchased at Circle K on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral.

Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery's portfolio of games, comprising approximately 65 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $734 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2015-16.
