Whiskey Creek condo residents, rattled by stabbing attack, ask for increased insecurity.  A day after a police chopper was buzzing over the condo building some neighbors are still in shock.

"I was in shock because it was a couple of yards away from my apartment and 11 o'clock in the morning," said George Neacsus, Whiskey Creek resident.

According to Lee County Sheriff's office, the attacker, wielding a knife, ambushed the victim near an elevator at the Fort Myers condo.

The subject stabbed the victim twice, before robbing him. Detectives say the crook also threatened to kill the victim before taking off on foot.

Neighbors told Fox 4, Friday's incident was the second time someone was attacked near the condo for money in the past two weeks.

"There was a mugging right around the corner in the next building and [yesterday] it was this. It's a little unnerving," said Ralph Duttko, Whiskey Creek resident

Some also say it's unnerving that the crook in the latest case was able to gain access to the elevator without any obstacles.

"At the very least there ought to be a key or something for that elevator," said a woman who did not want to reveal her identity.

She told Fox 4 she plans to ask building management to make sure there's more security.

"We need a better surveillance. I'm not sure what the answer is but we cant have people roaming around waiting at that elevator," said neighbor.

Others say they'll be sure to make their voices heard when the community association meets again.

"I'm definitely going to attend the next meeting you know," said Buttko
