The latest run in between Cape Coral Mayor Marni Sawicki and her now ex-husband is the latest straw for her critics.
This is coming after Sawicki's ex-husband, Cape Coral fireman Kenneth Retzer called the police during a dispute at her home in November, according to reports.
The couple divorced in September after two months of marriage.
This was after Mayor Sawicki filed a restraining order against Retzer in April claiming he sent her threatening and harassing text messages.
Attorney Sean King says even though Sawicki did not cooperate with the investigation, she was exercising her rights as a citizen and not abusing her power.
The Mayor later posted a video on Facebook asking for her privacy.
"As many of you may know, come issues in my personal life have unfortunately become very public. As with anyone in our community, i strive to separate my job responsibility with my private life," said Mayor Sawicki.
But Jay Lagace who led a recall effort against Sawicki says she can no longer keep her private life separate from her responsibility as Mayor.
"She's got good views, but with all of the garbage that constantly surrounds her, I just don't think anyone can take her seriously at this point," said Lagace.
