HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. -- Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that took the lives of a LaBelle woman and one teenager Wednesday morning.
Troopers say the crash happened on Sears Road, 5 miles east of State Road 29, south of LaBelle, just before 6:30 am.
According to Florida Highway Patrol. an SUV was westbound on Sears Road when the driver lost control and overturned into a canal.
The driver, 43-year-old Ligia Silva of LaBelle, was pronounced dead at the scene, as well as 14-year-old Kallitha Silva.
13-year-old Debora Silva was also a passenger in the vehicle and survived with minor injuries.
