PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is investigating a body found in a retention pond in the Charlotte Harbor area Thursday.
It happened behind the Publix shopping center on Tamiami Trail near Bayshore Road.
Investigators say it does not appear that anything criminal occurred at the scene.
The body has been removed from the pond.
