FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The former interim police chief in Fort Myers is retiring next month.

After 30 years with the department, Dennis Eads's last day is October 6th.

Eads served as interim chief for nearly a year until the city hired Derrick Diggs last month. He's now leading the department on a permanent basis.

Diggs, who has decades of experience in Toledo, Ohio, has made community engagement and surveillance one of his top priorities.
