Break out the boots, sweaters and UGGs and light the fire pits! Our first real taste of chilly fall temperatures will arrive later this weekend with a strong cold front. Until then, temps will be warm with highs around 80 each afternoon and overnight temps in the 50s to lower 60s.
The front is expected to move through the area sometime Saturday. The cooling trend will begin Saturday night with low temps in the md-50s. By Sunday, High temperatures will struggle to reach the mid-70s and winds will be gusty out of the north. The air will become very dry with relative humidity levels dropping through the day.
By Sunday night, widespread 40 degree temperatures will be likely across areas away from the immediate coast. Due to the trajectory of the wind (coming from the northeast instead of off the Gulf) 40s will be possible as far west as US 41. Highs on Monday will again rebound into the low-70s with a gradual warming trend through the middle of next week into Thanksgiving.
If you are fan of cooler weather...you'll enjoy it later this weekend!
