LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Several Lee County students presented hurricane preparedness ideas to a panel of judges at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Lee County schools issued this challenge because of the impact Hurricane Irma had on the area.
"We just got through a year with Irma and then every day we're hearing about releases into the water affecting our environment," Foundation for Lee County Public School's Marshall Bower, said. "So we knew that it was something that both our community at large and specifically our students had been exposed to and would be interested in."
