UPDATE 9/20/20 5 PM

Wilfred is now a tropical depression with maximum sustained wind of 35 mph. It continues to move quickly to the WNW at 20 mph. Strong vertical wind shear in part by Teddy will cause this storm to dissipate early this week. Wilfred will not affect any land areas.

UPDATE 9/19/20 11 PM

Wilfred is encountering westerly wind shear and continues to appear disorganized on infrared satellite. It still has maximum sustained wind of 40 mph as it moves to the WNW at 16 mph. Wind shear will increase as it moves to a drier environment which should dissipate the storm. Wilfred will become a remnant low sometime Sunday or Monday and will not affect any land areas.

UPDATE 9/19/20 5 PM

Tropical Storm Wilfred has a small center of circulation, but still packs wind of 40 mph. It continues to move to the WNW at 14 mph. It won't affect any land areas as wind shear and dry air will eventually kill the storm sometime Sunday or Monday.

UPDATE 9/19/20 5 AM

Tropical Storm Wilfred once again is barely holding on to tropical storm status as it moves toward the WNW at 17 mph. Maximum sustained wind is 40 mph with a high central pressure of 1007 mb. Wilfred is only producing small amounts of convection near its center of circulation, but an increase in wind shear and and influx of dry air should cause Wilfred to become a remnant low in the next 48 hours.

UPDATE 9/18/20 11 PM

Tropical Storm Wilfred has maximum sustained wind of 40 mph as it moves quickly to the WNW at 18 mph. Wilfred's convection has decreased and it is difficult to pinpoint its center of circulation. Wilfred will remain a minimal tropical storm before dissipating into a remnant low early next week. Wilfred will not affect any land areas.
