LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Southwest Florida food bank is helping out those in hurricane shelters in parts of Florida as Hurricane Dorian churns offshore.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank says they shipped a truck full of emergency meal kits to a shelter in Broward County on Monday.

They're also prepared to send food to shelters in Glades County if asked to do so.

They are anticipating a need to purchase more shelf stable foods such as pop top cans, which are useful to those without can openers.

More information on how to help them HERE.
