UPDATE- I-75 re-opened late Saturday night near North Port after a massive brush fire forced its closure for much of Saturday afternoon and evening.
A 3,500 acres brush fire caused Exit 170 to Exit 179 on I-75 to shut down to due poor visibility from the smoke, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The fire is 30% contained, Florida Forest Services said.
The brush is in the area of Yorkshire/ Raintree loop on the east end of town. The flames jumped over I-75 and moved north.
