The Florida Forestry Service has updated information about multiple Southwest Florida wildfires.
According to a release, the Greenway Fire had a flare up north of US-41 at Miccosukee Indian Village. It was addressed by the Greater Naples Fire Rescue Disctrict and wildland firefighters, as well as an FFS helicopter.
Currently, the Florida Forestry Service is monitoring the following fires:
- Greenway Fire, Collier County: 16,876 acres, 50% contained and caused by lightning
- Flag Pond Fire, Collier County: 2,578 acres, 100% contained and caused by lightning
- West Boundary Fire, Hendry County: 2,629 acres, 80% contained and caused by lightning
- Shamrock Drive Fire, Lee County: 20 acres, 100% contained and caused by a fallen powerline
