PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Firefighters battled a brush fire near Kyoto Gardens Drive and Alternate A1A in Palm Beach Gardens for several hours on Sunday.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue confirmed the bulk of the fire, that covered 80 acres, is out. There are still smoky conditions in the area.
Florida Highway Patrol have closed I-95 in both directions in the area due to the heavy smoke. Northbound traffic is being diverted off at Northlake Boulevard and southbound traffic is being diverted off at Donald Ross Road.
Representatives from the American Red Cross were at the scene of the wildfire to provide meals, critical hydration and nutrition to the 90 firefighters and first responders battling the fire.
