COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Wildfires in a rural section of wilderness east of Naples have forces the closure a State Road 29.

The section affected is from Alligator Alley (I-75) north to Oil Well Road, a distance of about 10 miles.

Florida Highway Patrol says smoke is visible from Alligator Alley, but visibility is good and I-75 remains open to traffic.

Earlier this week, smoke from nearby fires forced the closure of Tamiami Trail near State Road 29 several times.  That roadway is still open at this time.
