According to the Centers for Disease Control, gum disease is more common in people who suffer from diabetes. Having been diagnosed with the dreaded disease in 2014, Yvette Nicole Brown, star of the hit sitcom The Odd Couple, understands first-hand the daily challenge of managing diabetes. After being pre-diabetic for 10 years Yvette was diagnosed about 3 with Type 2 diabetes.
The “Laugh Out Loud” campaign, running during National Dental Hygiene Month (October) and American Diabetes Month (November), will be filled with laugh-out-loud videos, funny social media posts and more to make the diabetes community laugh, all while building awareness of the importance of maintaining the health of the teeth and gums behinds our smiles.
