The Final Table is a global culinary competition show featuring the world’s most talented chefs fighting for a spot at the elite, Final Table made up of the greatest chefs from around the globe. The series features 12 teams of two chefs from around the world cooking the national dishes of Mexico, Spain, England, Brazil, France, Japan, the U.S., India and Italy. Each episode focuses on a different country and its cuisine, with celebrity ambassadors, food critics and the country’s greatest chef eliminating teams until the finale. In that last episode, only one of our competing chefs will win a place at the Final Table, joining the nine legendary culinary icons -- Enrique Olvera (Mexico), Andoni Aduriz (Spain), Clare Smyth (UK), Helena Rizzo (Brazil), Vineet Bhatia (India), Grant Achatz (US), Carlo Cracco (Italy), Yoshihiro Narisawa (Japan) and Anne-Sophie Pic (France). The series will be presented by Andrew Knowlton, James Beard Award-winning Writer and Editor at Large, Bon Appétit. The series premieres on Netflix on Tues, 11/20.
Andrew Knowlton is the Deputy Editor at Bon Appétit where he has worked, like, forever (since 2000 to be exact). He oversees the magazine's restaurant coverage, including the annual Hot 10 list, and writes features such as "24 Hours at the Waffle House," and "Welcome to Hillstone, America's Favorite Restaurant." His rather opinionated Foodist column has run in the magazine since 2008. His 24 Hours At… video series won a James Beard Foundation award in 2017. You might have seen him on TV (with or without long hair) on shows like The Next Iron Chef America and Iron Chef America as well as the Bravo series Best New Restaurant. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two daughters (the oldest is named after a popular Southern cocktail). He likes all Atlanta sports teams, boiled peanuts, the Dead, JAWS, and steal frame bicycles. He dislikes all New York sports teams, kiwis, kidneys, green bell peppers, and drivers who park in bike lanes.
