Celebrity Chef Laura Vitale shares her tips on how to make your family meal simple and meaningful this Fall.
Did you know that 1 in 7 American households suffer from hunger? An astounding 48 million Americans are food insecure. That includes 15 million children and 5 million senior citizens. A recent national survey revealed that the family meal is the essential moment for families to come together to discuss, learn, and be inspired to help others in need, and the majority of parents said that they use the family meal as a time to talk about important social issues, including hunger and poverty.
This year, celebrity chef, YouTube sensation and host of the Cooking Channel’s “Simply Laura”, Laura Vitale, is teaming up with Red Gold’s Families Helping Families Crush Hunger campaign to harness the power of the family meal to help others in need. For each Red Gold product purchased in the month of October, one meal will be donated to those in need – with a goal of providing 1.7 million meals to Feeding America food banks nationwide.
On Friday, September 30th, Laura will be available for live interviews to discuss how she is helping families share a meal this fall. Vitale will lend her culinary expertise, tips and simple approach to cooking to show families how they can create easy, affordable meals during the campaign, all while showcasing one of her very own recipes.
