Online shopping is expected to significantly increase this holiday season as consumers stay home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While retailers prepare to manage this influx of online customers, scammers are looking to take advantage of holiday shoppers.
That is why Facebook and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) have joined forces to launch the “Shop Safe, Shop Smart” campaign. This month, BBB and Facebook will run ads and post organic content across social media channels to promote actionable tips on how to spot, avoid and report scams online. The campaign aims to help consumers shop safely at the online retailers they love and trust, but also to discover and support new businesses,especially small, local businesses, who are turning to online channels due to the pandemic.
