Despite the advances in oncology research and care, cancer remains the world’s second leading cause of death. But luckily there are many individuals and organizations throughout the U.S. who are making an enormous difference to cancer patients and their families and doing so with a community approach. Several have just been awarded for the selfless work through a program known as the Cancer Community or (C2) Awards.
The four winners were chosen for their invaluable and inspiring work, with nominations from the entire cancer community and participation from judges representing some of the most influential organizations making change in oncology. Their contributions range from extending quality care to underserved communities, improving the patient experience, advancing precision medicine or just doing something flat-out inspiring to improve cancer care. Each one has a compelling story about their work.
