NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Shell Factory and Nature Park in North Fort Myers is home to more than 400 animals, and now you can meet them up close during the new "close encounters" attraction.
Located at 2787 North Tamiami Trail, the attraction is open daily at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for half an hour.
Some of the animals you can get up close with are baby alligators, sugar gliders, kinkajou, agoutis and bare-tailed woolly opossum.
The Shell Factory and Nature Park is celebrating it's 80th anniversary in 2018.
